COLLIER COUNTY, FLa. — We are learning more details about what led up to a deadly, small plane crash in Naples.
On May 11th, William Gaston took off from Key West International Airport heading for the Naples Municipal Airport.
According to a new report, an air traffic controller cleared Gaston to land on the runway.
However, the plane veered away for an unknown reason.
Gaston's plane crashed about 5 miles away from Naples airport.
The report says feathers and a dead bird were among the wreckage.
