North Port Police investigating potential kidnapping

NORTH PORT, Fla — The North Port Police Department says they're acting diligently after they received a report of a potential kidnapping Saturday night.

The incident happened near Ohana Way.

Police say the report came from several juveniles who believe they witnessed A 4-year-old to 7-year-old girl get into a van with an older man.

They say they have canvased the area but have not found any evidence to support the claim.

North Port Police say they also have not received any reports of a missing girl.

They say the child allegedly had long black hair and wore a peach color shirt and dark bicycle shorts.

The juveniles believe the man was in his thirties and had a white shirt with dark pants.

The North Port Police Department says a van was seen in the area around the time of the alleged incident, but they do not have any missing person reports.
