CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Oasis High School in Cape Coral may be facing some fines from the Florida High School Athletic Association after a student on their football team participated in three games while being ineligible to play.

A representative from the Cape Coral Charter School Authority says the school became aware of the situation Wednesday and self-reported it to the FHSAA.

Now it is up to the FHSAA to calculate and present possible fines.

The school representative confirmed the money to pay for the fines would come from the Oasis High School.

The FHSAA has not presented the school with fines pending further investigation.

Cape Coral Charter School Authority representative did not confirm why the student was ineligible to play but did confirm the schools the games were against have been alerted of the situation.
