CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — An off duty first responder from Charlotte County Fire & EMS Marine Operations rescued boaters from a sinking boat on Friday.
Officials say the firefighter was 15 miles off the coast in the Gulf, enjoying his day off when he noticed a boater in distress.
He jumped into action and rescued the boaters, then called in the Coast Guard and the Venice Police Department.
