Posted

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Two dogs are back on dry land thanks to a persistent Cape Coral Police Officer.

The department released body cam video of the rescue on their Facebook page.

They say last week, an officer found two dogs stuck in a canal off Southeast 32nd Street.  When the officer tried to pick one of the dogs up, it bit him!

But, the officer tried again, and was able to one dog out, though he was nipped on his hand again.

The other dog swam across the canal but was also safely rescued.

Both dogs are in good health and were returned to their owner.
