One dead in Port Charlotte after domestic incident

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Deputies are investigating a death at a Port Charlotte home Thursday.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, around 11:30 a.m., units responded to 3400 block of Westlund Terrace on reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon the arrival of deputies, one deceased person individual was located within a residence.

A second subject was located on scene and transported to a district office for questioning.

The death investigation is suspicious in nature, however CCSO says there is no danger or concern to area residents.

The incident is still under criminal investigation by the Major Crimes Unit.

UPDATE: 34-year-old Jeffrey Mulligan has been charged with the murder of his father, 51-year-old Patrick Mulligan.
