One dead in single-car crash in North Fort Myers; witness sought

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators are looking to witnesses to an overnight crash in North Fort Myers that took the life of a young woman.

It happened just after Midnight on Wednesday morning, on Hancock Bridge Parkway.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, 26-year-old Amber Udell was driving westbound approaching Orange Grove Boulevard.  For unknown reason, her vehicle exited the roadway at a curve in the road, struck a curb and went airborne before hitting a power pole.

Udell ws taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking the community to provide information regarding the incident.  Witnesses are asked to contact LCSO Detective Leonard Gould at 239-477-1636 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
