COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- One of the drivers involved in a three-car crash in rural Collier County early Friday has died at the hospital.
The crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. on State Road 29 just north of Oil Well Road. That’s south of Immokalee and east of Ave Maria.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Naples man was driving south on S.R. 29 when he swerved left into the northbound lane and collided with another car. His car was then hit by a 2nd northbound car.
The driver was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released yet.
The driver of the first northbound car, 54-year-old Juana Hernadez of Naples, was critically injured and also taken to Lee Memorial.
The 2nd northbound car's driver suffered minor injures.

The fire department says one driver was trapped inside the car. They say they had to rip off the car's roof to free them.
