CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A single-vehicle rollover crash south of Babcock Ranch Friday morning has sent one person to the hospital.
The crash happened around 6:00 a.m. along State Road 31 near St. Vincent Avenue. That's just north of the Charlotte-Lee county line.
Florida Highway says a southbound Ford pickup truck went into a culvert, rolled over, and crashed into a fence, ending up in a field off to the side of the highway.
The driver, 63-year-old Randy Bateman of Arcadia, was ejected from the truck in the crash. He was placed on a medical helicopter for transportation in serious condition.
No other vehicles were involved.
The roadway is open again in the area.
