FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police say shots were fired outside a popular nightclub that’s had run ins with the law many times before.
Fort Myers Police tell Fox 4 it all started when a fight broke out inside the Fly Lounge nightclub and poured out into the parking lot. That’s when gunshots were fired.
This all happened just before 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Officers had the parking lot roped off with several evidence markers on the ground.
Police say no one was hurt and we are working to find out if anyone was arrested.
A similar incident happened at the same nightclub, located on Colonial Boulevard, back in January, where a fight broke out and three men were arrested.
Then in February, the nightclub shut down for a few weeks after being served an eviction notice. For months, police say there were reports of noise complaints, strippers inside the club, holding events without a permit, and stolen guns found in the parking lot.
They also had issues including weapon and drug seizures.
We are still working to get more information on the incident that happened Friday morning.
