FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Fort Myers Police Department has identified the man killed in a fatal pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Brandon Taylor Ybarra of Naples.

The accident happened around 6:10 a.m. near the intersection of Six Mile Cypress Parkway and Challenger Boulevard. Police say Ybarra was trying to cross Six Mile Cypress and entered the path of a northbound pickup truck.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

All northbound traffic on Six Mile Cypress between Challenger Boulevard and Colonial Boulevard was closed for about three hours, but all travel lanes have reopened.

Investigators say alcohol and drugs were not a factor and the driver of the truck involved was not charged.
