CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FLa. — The Charlotte County Sheriffs Office says they have arrested the parents of the 14-month old that died in a Punta Gorda Home.
34-year-old Kenneth Adams and 24-year-old Brittaney Williams were arrested, and each was charged with four counts of Aggravated Abuse and Neglect of a Child with Great Bodily Harm.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Adam’s home in Punta Gorda on April 24th for a report of an unresponsive child. Charlotte County Fire & EMS attempted lifesaving measures prior to the determination that the child was deceased.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate the death of the 14-month-old.
Detectives found deplorable conditions within the home, which had garbage, urine, dirty diapers and feces.
They also say a bb gun, as well as marijuana and knives were all left out in the open.
Three other children were found in the home. Interviews with the children determined all of the children demonstrated cognitive and developmental delays.
Williams and Adams were arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail.
