CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. ---- Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a crash resulting in a pedestrian being hit by a car, Saturday.
According to investigators, the victim was walking along the 3400 block of Peace River Drive when he was hit by a driver backing out of their driveway.
The driver of the car continued backing out the driveway, causing the victim to become trapped underneath the car. The driver eventually came to a stop in the middle of Peace Rive Drive.
First responders arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver is facing charges for improperly backing a car.
