FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Thanksgiving is just days away.  And while many may be thinking about turkey for the holiday, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of animals) wants you to think about the bird in a different way.

A new billboard along Interstate 75 in Fort Myers shows a turkey's face with the words "I'm me, not meat. See the individual. Go vegan."

The ad is part of a series of similar ones being placed across the United States by PETA in an effort to get people to consider ditching the turkey for the big holiday.

This billboard is located just north of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
