FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Pine Lake Preserve located in Bonita Springs will close Monday, Feb. 1 for a restoration project.
Lee County says the project will re-establish hydraulic connectivity between the Imperial River and its watershed to the east. The project will redirect water flows south onto the Pine Lake Preserve property from an existing storm-water ditch located north of the property.
The county says storm-water will then be directed into two existing shallow pounds, which will be modified to outfall into the Imperial River.
Lee County says the preserve is expected to reopen in May.
