FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Fort Myers man is facing charges of contributing to the delinquency of minors after officers heard gunshots coming from his car.
According to Fort Myers Police, at 2:49 a.m. New Year's Day, officers saw a car driven by 30-year-old Anthony Chapman headed south on Palm Avenue in Fort Myers and then heard several gunshots coming from the car.
Officers stopped the car and ordered Chapman out. Officers say he had a handgun in his possession, and his three children, aged 1, 10, and 11, in the back seat.
Chapman was taken into custody and the children were released to adult guardians after the Department of Children and Family Services were contacted.
Chapman was later transported the Lee County Jail.
