Police chase leads to crash after stabbing in North Fort Myers

A high speed chase led to a collision this morning just after 8 a.m. Audrey Lee Hill stabbed a woman in the eye in the parking lot of a convenience store in Dunbar. 

It started when police responded to a call about a stabbing at where they found Hill in the car with the stabbing victim. Hill took off and led police on a high-speed chase where she collided with a van on the corner of North Bayshore Road and North Tamiami trail. 

Police say that Hill exited the vehicle and preceded on foot where she was attested in the parking lot of of the Weaver's Corner shopping center. 

People in the area had varied reactions to hearing the news of what happened in their neighborhood. Geroge Saladino was disgusted when he learned about the incident. 

"The feeling of somebody stabbing another woman in the eye when they are going down the street, I think that what hit home with me", he told Fox 4. 

Another local man, Mr. Smith said he was happy the police responded as quickly as they did. 

"No question if the police got the person who did that, then that's why we need the police. I'd rather have them than not have them".
