PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Police have released surveillance images of two women accused of using distraction techniques to steal credit cards at Fisherman's Village.
According to Punta Gorda Police, the suspects targeted an employee at Sea Spirit on Wednesday.
They say two women entered the store, and while one woman distracted the employee, the other one went into the employee's purse and stole cash and several credit cards.
The women later used the stolen cards to purchase $1,200 in gift cards at a local Publix before the victim realized the cards were gone.
The suspects are described as black females in their late 20’s or early 30’s. One suspect was described as having a heavy build with short black hair wearing white pants with green and black colors. The other suspect was described as having an average build wearing a brown fedora style hat, blue jeans, and a butterfly pendant.
The suspects were driving a maroon vehicle.
