Police investigate after shooting victims show up at hospital

**UPDATE** (11:45AM) -- Police now confirm that a vehicle they were investigating outside Lee Memorial was involved in a shooting.

The say that two men, 34-year-old Wilson Valentin and 40-year-old Adrian Gadsden, were in the car at Southward Village apartments when a man attempted to rob them at gunpoint.

The suspect fired shots into the car, striking both men, who were able to drive away and go to the hospital. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect is described as a black male, heavy set with a scruffy beard.

The shooting remains under investigation.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- We're working to find out why police surrounded a car outside of Lee Memorial Hospital overnight.

Video from the Fox 4 Breaking News Tracker from early Thursday morning shows that police put tape up around a beige sedan parked outside the trauma center.

Police are no longer there and the car, a Mitsubishi Mirage, was towed away.
