FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police are investigating reports of shots fired Tuesday night that left one person dead and another injured on Franklin Street.
Fort Myers Police say the call came in just before 11 p.m. Tuesday reporting shots fired near the intersection of Franklin Street and Jackson Street. That's just south of City of Palms Park.
Officers arrived to find one person dead and another injured. The deceased person has been identified as 34-year-old Robert Lane.
The injured person, 37-year-old Serdarryel English, was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Police say nobody is in custody at this time, but say the public is not at danger.
