Marco Island Police say a 12-year-old student was walking home from Charter Middle School and was approached by a male in a tan 4-door vehicle with tinted windows.
It happened Tuesday afternoon near the school on Trinidad Avenue
The suspect pulled alongside of her and told her to come to his vehicle. When she ignored him, he screamed at her to come to his car.
Police say she approached close enough to get a look at the driver, and the male asked if she needed a ride home. The student ran from the area and called her mother immediately to pick her up.
The student told police she has never seen the suspect or the vehicle in the area prior to this incident.
She described the man to have gray hair, a beard and glasses with a very thin body build. He was last seen wearing a blue collared golf style shirt.
If anyone has seen this person, they are asked to call the Marco Island Police Department.
