FORT MYERS, Fla. – There was a possible robbery at a convenience store in Fort Myers Tuesday morning.
It happened at around 1:45 AM in the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Winkler Avenue and Colonial Boulevard.
An employee there told Fox 4 that more than one person tried to rob the store.
Fox 4 crew saw a Fort Myers police cruiser parked behind a white Chevy Blazer at the gas pump outside the 7-Eleven. The car was then impounded possibly for evidence.
The store was shut down temporarily while officers were on scene but has since reopened for business.
The store clerk inside said no one was hurt.
Fox 4 crew also saw a couple police cruisers about a half mile down the road investigating the area.
Right now, we are working to get this information confirmed with police.
