UPDATE (9:20AM) -- Surveillance images have been released of Friday morning's robbery at a North Fort Myers 7-Eleven store.
The images show a suspect wearing all black and a colorful mask pointing a black semi-automatic pistol at employees.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, it happened just after 2 a.m. at the store on Tamiami Trail near Del Prado Boulevard.
They say the suspect jumped the counter and struck one of the employees in the face. In fear for her life, the second clerk opened the cash register and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. With the money in hand, the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.
He is described as being approximately 5’8” to 5’10” with a thin build. His race is unknown at this point, due to the clothing and mask.
