PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is investigating a potential threat of violence that could happen Friday at a school.
Deputies say the threat was made at The Academy School located on Cochran Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
There is no established credibility or validity to this threat, but deputies say it takes all threats of this nature seriously.
The Sheriff’s Office is taking all measures necessary to ensure the safety of teachers and students who attend this school and will have additional personnel detailed at that location as a safety precaution.
