CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A 75-year-old Punta Gorda man died in a car accident on Toledo Blvd. Friday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the driver was traveling westbound on State Road 776, approaching the intersection of Toledo Blvd in a Sedan.
Troopers say another driver was traveling eastbound on the same road approaching the intersection.
The driver of the Sedan tried to turn left in front of the second car, according to Troopers.
Florida Highway Patrol says, the front of the second car collided with the Sedan.
Troopers say the impact of the crash caused the Sedan to go off the roadway and crash into a traffic utility box.
The second car also traveled off the roadway and overturned, according to Troopers.
Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of the second wasn't injured.
Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
