Long time residents of Marco Island say it's been decades since they've seen this much rain in such a short period of time.
Several roads were closed because of the flooding, a result of constant rain that began Monday. Marco Island Police closed down some lanes along Heathwood Drive because the flooding was so bad.
"It's pretty bad, the baddest I've seen in 6 or 7 years," said resident Alex Snyder.
The weather kept tow truck driver Joseph Raymond very busy Wednesday.
"Most of the cars I dealt with today were taking a turn, when they hit the water they just sank," said Raymond.
He towed 4 cars that were stalled today.
"I passed a lot more that were waiting on someone to help them," he said.
The rain had stopped by sunset and the water was finally draining away.
