The Red Cross in Southwest Florida went to several different counties today handing out cleaning kits, water and food for people affected by the flooding.

"The mission of The Red Cross is to alleviate human suffering during a disaster," said Jill Palmer, the Executive Director of the Southwest Florida Red Cross.

Some volunteers traveled to Imperial Parkway in Bonita Springs and donated hundreds of items to families.

Liliano Alvarado said, "It's actually perfect, you know. All these people, all these neighbors that got hit with the flooding and everything, we need it."

Her mother, Blanca said, "God sent me someone to help us."
