LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The National Weather Service in the Tampa Bay area has issued a Red Flag Warning for parts of Southwest Florida until 6pm Tuesday evening.

Effected areas include DeSoto County, inland Sarasota County, inland Charlotte County, and inland Lee County.

Very dry air will support humidity values below 35% over the warning area Tuesday afternoon. These low values combined with high ERC's and sustained winds of 15 mph or greater will support red flag conditions.

Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
