Red tide appears to be decreasing in Southwest Florida

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – There’s good news if you're planning to head to the beach in the next few days. It looks like red tide is leaving the area.

According to the daily sample map from Florida Fish and Wildlife, you can see there are no longer any indications of high concentrations of red tide along the Gulf coast.

But there are some low to medium concentrations in Charlotte and Collier counties.

There were some reports of fish kills over the last week in Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties.

Respiratory Irritation was reported in parts of Sarasota, Lee, and Collier counties.
