CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A Cape Coral woman is expressing concerns over congested traffic in her neighborhood.

Joan Rose, whose lived in Cape Coral for over 20 years, believes the construction of 'The Cape at Savona Point' apartment complex could make traffic worse for those already living in her area.

Rose says she fears the hundreds of additional vehicles coming to the new apartment complex will cause traffic congestion along Savona Parkway West.

Rose says traffic congestion is already a problem when parents line up near Savona Parkway to pick up their kids from Gulf Middle School.

“They supposedly have room, with all the units they’re putting, for 600 cars. We’re all boxed in by canals; we can’t get out because of the canals surrounding our area,” said Rose.

The city of Cape Coral says a traffic study was conducted, which is required for a multi-family development of this size.

“I just can’t imagine how this is going to work; it’s going to be a disaster,” said Rose.
