Residents forced out at the Salamanca Pointe Apartments

Posted

FORT MYERS, Fla -- Residents living at the Salamanca Pointe Apartments in Fort Myers say they have been given a few days notice to move out because the complex claims the units may be contaminated from flooding by Hurricane Irma.

Many say they have nowhere to go and they cannot afford to leave. Some are disabled or veterans and live on a fixed income.

People have been told they could return to their units after the mold is removed, but they have not been told how long that would take.

The complex's corporate office has not responded to our attempts to contact them.
