Restaurants compete at Taste of Fort Myers Beach

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- During the 23rd annual Taste oif Fort Myers Beach restaurants competed for a series of top prizes based on everything from tastiness to presentation. The restaurants, all locally owned and operated, dishes displayed their t=most popular dishes for consideration by a panel of judges. 

One of teams Pink Shell served up dishes for every category. The most popular one being their salad and fish tacos.

“We also have the grilled fish tacos today there’s  mahi-mahi and it has a chipotle aloe and guacamole on it", said Amber Mauro. 

Mauro and the rest of the team from Pink Shell have been serving up tasty bites for the competition. Teams are judged in multiple categories. including deserts. Pink Shell also chose to serve their key-lime pie. 

“Every day they’re our three best sellers at the restaurant“, she said. 

Another team ready excited to enter the competition is the Beached Whale, They came prepared to show off a new menu item.

“Tequito appetizer. It is a barbecue chicken with some poblano peppers, some red pepper little bit of garlic mixed in“. 

It's been a popular menu item for Ryan Schlottman and his team who are hoping that in addition to winning points with the taster's, they'll take home a prize from the judges. 

All proceeds from the Taste of Fort Myers Beach benefit the Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce.
