Police searching for suspects in fatal shooting in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Fort Myers Police are searching for a group they're calling "armed and dangerous" and responsible for shooting a man to death.
It happened in Fort Myers on Gardenia Avenue, near Michigan Avenue on Saturday night.

Police say they received a Shot Spotter alert as well as several 911 calls. They responded to the 1500 block of Gardenia Avenue, where they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say he was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he died.

They found a surveillance video showing a Gray Nissan Kicks crossover SUV fleeing from the scene. At this time, police are searching for the vehicle and the subjects who fire gun shots at the victim. Police say the car was last seen traveling east on Michigan Avenue and Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard. Police say the subjects in the car are considered armed and dangerous.
