LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Lee County man has been sent to prison and is labeled a Sexual Predator for having sex with a minor in 2018.
27-year-old Javarious Pointer was sentenced to 18 years in prison followed 12 years of sex offender probation for crimes against a minor. He was adjudicated guilty of one count each of Sexual Battery While Victim Helpless and Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child.
According to the State Attorney's Office, on Christmas Day of 2018, Pointer had sex with a teenager who later overdosed on drugs at a residence in Lee County.
The evidence shows the victim died of acute toxicity of cocaine and Fentanyl.
The individual accused of selling the victim the drugs, Fred Shackleford, is awaiting trial.
