Sick child's stolen Go-Kart is located, but vandalized

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- In an update to a story we brought you last week, a little boy's stolen Go-Kart has been found, but it was in pieces.

On Friday we told you about 7-year-old Connor.  His Go-Kart was stolen from his Cape Coral home.

But it was more than just a cool gadget; it was a gift from his parents after he was released from the hospital while battling Leukemia.

Thankfully, after our report aired Friday, a Southwest Florida man reported seeing a Go-Kart in the woods.  Connor's dad drove there and found it, but unfortunately, it was severely vandalized.

Connor's parents tell Fox 4 it looks like thieves took it for a joy ride and then removed several parts, including the seat.  Connor's mom Sarah says someone tried painting it, broke a belt, and bent the steering.

She says his Go-Kart was one of the only things that made him feel like a normal kid.
