LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A deadly boat crash took the life of a Fort Myers urologist in Hendry Creek on Friday.
Investigators say 51-year-old Dr. Omar Benitez died in a single boat crash around 7 p.m. Friday near Coca Sabal Lane.
Dr. Benitez worked at Complete Care Urology in Fort Myers.
A message posted on their website over the weekend states: "It is with deep regret that we inform you that Doctor Benitez passed away unexpectedly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends,
staff, and loved ones of Dr. Omar Benitez.”
