FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Lots of blue and red filled The Lodge downtown Fort Myers. The bar was packed with fans rooting for the New England Patriots, with some Rams fans in between.

The game got off to a slow start. It made history as the second lowest score before half time in a Super Bowl. But fans came ready for the ride.

Bob Johnson decked out in bears gear said since his team didn’t make it, he hopes the blue and gold take home the ring.

“I’ll gladly pull for the Rams any day of the week the Bears aren’t playing,” he said.

Joseph Michalski is visiting Southwest Florida from Chicago. He’s not a die-hard Rams fan either, but said it’s time for someone other than Tom Brady to win.

“I’m getting tired of seeing New England winning all the time,” said Michalski. “I think Brady’s had his share of it, you know. Spread it around a bit.”

But Mason Miller said he’s cheering for Brady because he said he dominates the game even when people root against him.

“Brady just wins at life. But because everybody hates him. He just keeps doing it. You gotta respect that. He’s good,” he said.

And Karen Caswell agreed.

“He’s the hero. He’s the quarterback. He’s the one that does it,” she said.
