Street still flooded in Bonita Springs

Residents on Lake Shalimar Drive are still dealing with several feet of murky water on their street after eight days without it draining.

Laura Kaman said she parked her car a mile away from her home and hasn't been able to drive onto her street since last Saturday.

"Why hasn't this street gone down?" she asked, after noticing other streets in Bonita Springs are starting to dry up.

She says she's called the city, public works and even the Governor to try and get some answers.

"Something is not draining and no one will answer our questions," she said.

The only answer she has gotten was the city stating they have no way to pump the water out of the street, but it should all be draining into the Imperial River.

Kaman said since Saturday, the water hasn't drained at all.

She said, "We need help here."

With the path of Hurricane Irma still unknown, she's worried that a few inches more of rain will cause more problems.
