An 18-year-old man was arrested for allegedly breaking into several vehicles in a gated community early Thursday morning, the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said.
It happened on Pinebay Boulevard in Englewood at approximately 3:40 am.
When Deputies arrived they identified 18-year-old Cole Wilson, who matched the description given by a resident who witnessed a car burglary.
Wilson was unable to provide a reason he was in the neighborhood, CCSO said.
Deputies found two cellphone chargers, loose change, sunglasses, cologne, gum and three single on-dollar bills. Witnesses later identified the items as stolen from their vehicles, CCSO said.
An investigation later revealed that Wilson had made attempts to break into other vehicles that were locked.
He was arrested and charged with four counts of burglary and petit theft.
