FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police are investigating reports of suspicious men attempting to contact a girl in a Fort Myers community.
The reports come from the Cedarbend community off Summerlin Road in Fort Myers.
According to Fort Myers Police, the girl's mom told police that last week her 11-year-old daughter noticed a white work van with lots of rust while walking her dog, and say the men were asking to see the dog. The girl avoided the men and went home.
Then this Tuesday, the girl says the same two men were following her again before she returned home.
The van is described as an older model white work van with dark windows and the Hispanic looking males both had dark hair and appeared to be between 20 and 30 years of age.
Some people that live at the complex aren't surprised by this.
"Honestly no, because it happened my friend who also lives here, it happened to me multiple times, maybe not by van but a few different cars and like I said I don’t think they live here,” said Heaven Hamilton, Resident.
FMPD patrols have been alerted and the department is asking anyone who may have information or has seen the vehicle in question call (239) 321-7700.
