FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A program helping kids in Lee County welcomed some new members Thursday.
It's called Take Stock in Children. The program was founded in 1995 to help deserving low-income kids escape poverty.
Take Stock in Children offers a mentorship program and scholarship opportunity. Members who remain crime and drug free, keep a 2.5 GPA and meet with their mentors regularly earn a four year college tuition scholarship.
