Arrest made in Collier County hit and run

UPDATE (1:14 PM)-- Florida Highway Patrol Troopers have arrested Juan Pablo Alvizurez Giron, 46, for the hit and run crash that left a 15 year old in critical condition.

Giron is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury (felony).

Alvizurez Giron was driving his 2006 Ford F150 westbound on US 41 in the right lane, approaching Southwest Boulevard's intersection. A juvenile pedestrian was traveling north, within the crosswalk, at the same intersection.

The front of the Ford F150 collided with the pedestrian.

Alvizurez Giron fled the crash scene in the Ford Truck.

Florida Highway Patrol impounded the 2006 Ford F150 from the Whistlers Cove Apartment Complex in Naples.

On September 9, 2020, troopers placed Alvizurez Giron, who is the owner of the Ford Truck, under arrest and transported him to the Collier County Jail.

UPDATE (9:13 AM) -- Florida Highway Patrol has impounded a 2006 Ford F150 (black), suspected of being vehicle 1, from the Whistlers Cove Apartment complex parking lot.

Troopers say the investigation is ongoing to forensically examine the impounded vehicle and to determine the identity of the driver.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers and Crime Stoppers need your help to locate the driver of a vehicle that hit a 15 year old walking to school.

According to the report, a pickup truck was traveling westbound on US 41 in the right lane, approaching Southwest Boulevard's intersection.

A 15 year old was traveling north within the crosswalk at the same intersection.

The front of the pickup truck collided with 15 years old and came to a final rest east of the intersection.

The teen was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

The pickup truck fled the scene of the crash.

The truck is possibly a black or dark in color pickup truck.
