LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A 16-year-old boy suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning when he was hit by a car that fled the scene.
Investigators say they're searching for a possible black sedan that's an unknown make or model.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 6 a.m., the teen was attempting to cross Leonard Boulevard at Haviland Avenue S. and stepped into the path of an eastbound sedan.
The sedan struck the boy's left leg and immediately left the scene, continuing eastbound on Leonard Boulevard.
Anyone with information regarding the vehicle is asked to contact Florida Highway Patrol or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
