LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Many people in Southwest Florida who have ties to the Middle East are watching all of the recent developments with Iran closely.

Families who have loved ones in both Iraq and Iran are concerned.

One family says their home country is already spiraling with inflation and tension.

Ashi Moghani and her husband Ali are from Iran, and have been in the United States since the 1970's, and they still have family back home. "It's very scary…first of all, nobody wants war. No one wants anyone to get killed."

While Vice President Mike Pence was staying in Sanibel over the weekend, he tweeted support for President Trump's decision to order an airstrike to kill an Iranian general.
