Thief breaks car window at Lee county cemetery

Posted

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A Lee county woman returned to her car and discovered the window smashed in. The single mother of three just finished with a visit to a cemetery Sunday after a church service.

"I realized my driver's side window was in the seat and busted out," Lori Rasnick told 4 In Your Corner.

Rasnick and her children were at a cemetery off State Road 82 in Lehigh Acres before they found the broken glass.

She then called the Lee County Sheriff's Office when her wallet, IDs, and cash were gone.

"I've been there many times and I've never thought pulling up there that something like this would happen," Rasnick said.

Rasnick told 4 In Your Corner her guard is up at malls, other shopping plazas, and the park. She has struggled to find an answer to why someone would prey on someone else visiting a cemetery.

"It's sad that you got to worry about things like this at a place like that," Rasnick said. "But, if you understood that, you'd be just as sick as that person," she added.

Lori hopes her story warns other people that someone could stoop to a new low.

"Maybe a small chance at some justice can come out of this. It's not going to get my window fixed, my wallet back, or the other things that were stolen. I'm not looking for that," Rasnick said. "I want the person to be held accountable," she added.
