FORT MYERS, FLA. — Still wondering what to do with all that used wrapping paper and other gift packaging?
The Lee County Solid Waste Resource Recovery Facility has a few ideas.
They're encouraging everyone to reuse what they can.
If you're absolutely done with it, you can send it their way, but they want to remind you that there are some things they don't accept.
A short list includes wrapping paper with a metallic finish, oiled boxes and old toys.
According to them, sending along items that they can't recycle ends up being costly for the county.
"We pay people to sort through it and collect it before trashing it. It's the least environmentally friendly option," said Molly Schweers, Communications Specialist for the Lee County Solid Waste Resource Recovery Facility
Schweers says when in doubt you can consult their website for guidance or throw the items in the trash.
