UPDATE (6/16)-- On May 17th, the Lee County Sheriffs Office responded to a medical call for a 23 month old with life-threatening injuries.
After an investigation, Deputies arrested Yannier Velazquez-Orjeda for Aggravated Child Abuse.
Velazquez-Orjeda then bonded out.
On May 20th, the child succumbed to her injuries.
The Lee County Sheriffs Office announced Yannier Velazquez-Orjeda had been arrested and is now charged with second-degree murder.
UPDATE (5/27)-- Yannier Velazquez-Orjeda has been released on May 19 on $250,000 bond.
A court order showed that Velazquez-Orjeda must surrender his passport.
He must also have no contact with any minor children.

The Lee County Sheriffs Office responded to a call in Lehigh Acres regarding medical assistance.
When Deputies arrived, they discovered a 23 month old with life-threatening injuries.
The child was med-flighted to John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.
After an investigation, Detectives learned that the child’s condition was not consistent with accidental injuries.
The investigation revealed that while in the care of Yannier Velazquez-Orjeda,36, the victim sustained several severe injuries.
At this time, the child is reported to be in critical condition.
Velazquez-Orjeda was arrested and charged with Aggravated Child Abuse.
