COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - A Florida Highway Patrol officer was taken to the hospital after a crash involving the patrol car and two other cars.
The crash happened Friday evening on I-75 northbound near Exit 105 (Golden Gate Parkway).
One of the drivers, traveling in a Chevy Malibu, was telling the trooper that his rear bumper was detaching when a driver traveling in a Toyota Tundra failed to slow down hitting both cars, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Northbound lanes were closed but have since reopened. Fire crews are on scene cleaning up spilled fuel.
The officer is expected to be ok. The drivers and passengers in the other cars faced minor injuries.
