Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in North Fort Myers.
It happened on NB I-75 near mile marker 142.
Investigators say a 35-year-old man was on a motorcycle traveling southbound on US 41, approaching the intersection of Dana Drive.
They say the box truck involved in this incident was traveling eastbound on Dana Drive and stopped at the US 41 intersection.
FHP says the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when the box truck was driving across the southbound lanes of US 41.
The motorcyclist ended up crossing paths with the box truck and tried to brake to avoid crashing into it.
Investigators say the motorcycle ended up on its side, and the driver was separated from it and collided with the box truck.
The 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
