CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol said I-75 northbound reopened after being shut down for hours due to a deadly crash involving a street sweeper.
The deadly crash happened in Charlotte County early Thursday morning near mile marker 162.
Reports said someone was walking down I-75 when a vehicle equipped with a "street sweeper” attachment hit the person. Troopers said the person died due to the crash.
The northbound lanes along I-75 at the Jones Loop Road exit were closed for hours as trooper investigated. The roadway reopened around 9:00 a.m.
